FAQ
Everything, in one place
We keep these answers honest, including the parts where the answer is simply “it depends on the land.”
Is Lucky Duck Real Estate a real estate brokerage?
No. Despite the name, we are not agents or brokers and we do not list property for anyone. We are a real estate company that buys land and houses directly from owners. When we buy, there is no commission to us.
Who is Lucky Duck Real Estate?
Lucky Duck Real Estate is the business name of North Texas Acquisition Group, LLC, a Fort Worth, Texas company that has been buying property directly from owners since 2016. Lucky Duck Home Buyers is our sister brand for houses.
What kinds of land do you buy?
Vacant lots, infill lots, acreage, rural tracts, and parcels with development potential. Land with no road frontage, no utilities or back taxes is still worth a conversation.
Do I need a survey before I sell?
No. If a survey is needed to close, we handle ordering it. If you already have one, it helps, but it is not required to get started.
My land has no legal access or road frontage. Can I still sell it?
Often, yes. Landlocked parcels are harder to sell on the open market, which is exactly where a direct buyer can help. We will look at the access situation and tell you honestly what we see.
There are back taxes on the land. Is that a problem?
Not necessarily. Delinquent taxes are typically paid at closing out of the sale. Tell us what is owed and we can look at whether a sale still makes sense.
What does “development potential” mean to you?
Land where something more could be built: an infill lot in a neighborhood, a tract near growth that could be subdivided, or a parcel that could be rezoned. We look at zoning, utilities, access and the local market to judge it.
Several family members own the land together. Can we sell?
Yes, as long as the owners agree to sell. Shared ownership is common with inherited land. Questions about who has the legal right to sell are for an attorney, but we are glad to talk through how a sale would work.
Do you still buy houses?
Yes. We buy houses as-is in many conditions and situations, including vacant, inherited, tenant-occupied and in need of repairs.
Are you a law firm?
No. We are not a law firm and we do not give legal, tax or financial advice. For those questions please talk to a qualified attorney or tax professional.
Do I have to sell?
No. There is no obligation. We will review the property and share what we see. If selling to us does not make sense for you, that is a perfectly fine outcome.
What information do you need from me?
To start, the property address or the county and parcel number, plus a short description. Anything else (surveys, tax statements, photos) helps but is not required.
Will you text me?
Only if you agree to it. The property form has a separate, optional box for text messages about your inquiry. You can reply STOP at any time to opt out, and our Terms explain the details.
What areas do you work in?
We buy land and property in Texas and in a growing number of other markets. Send us the details and our team will confirm whether we can help in your area.
Still have a question about your land?
Call or text us about the land or property, or send the details and our team will follow up. No pressure and no obligation.
